NetEye 4.46 Release Notes

Welcome to version 4.46 of our NetEye v4 Unified Monitoring Platform.

As you log in, you’ll be greeted by the iconic bell tower of Curon rising from the frozen surface of Lake Resia (Reschensee). The tower stands alone amid the wide expanse of winter ice, where fine cracks and muted textures hint at the water below. The visible upper section is all that remains of the original Romanesque bell tower dating back to 1357, the rest having been submerged. Although the bells were removed in 1950, local legend holds that on certain winter days, their sound can still be heard. This well-known landmark in the Venosta (Vinschgau) valley offers a clear, understated view of a place shaped by both natural conditions and history.

General

NetEye Backup and Restore

We’re excited to unveil the foundation of NetEye’s brand new backup and restore functionality in version 4.46.

This initial release delivers robust protection for your critical infrastructure, starting with AWS S3 integration and comprehensive backup support for core NetEye configurations, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and MariaDB. And this is just the beginning—we’ll be expanding coverage to additional services in upcoming releases.

Disaster Recovery Made Smarter

Our MariaDB backup solution is designed with real-world recovery scenarios in mind. By combining full backups with intelligent incremental backups, you’ll minimize both storage requirements and costs without compromising on data protection. Need to restore just a single service database? Our documented extraction procedure enables precise, selective recovery from your backups

NetEye User Guide – Protected Configuration Items

To support safer update and upgrade procedures, the NetEye User Guide — specifically the Update/Upgrade Guide — has been enhanced with a dedicated section for the Elastic Stack module that lists configuration settings that must not be modified by customers. These “untouchable” settings are required to remain unchanged to ensure correct behavior during updates and to prevent issues such as configuration conflicts or unintended overrides (e.g., during rpmnew handling).
