As perhaps all NetEye users who have already used NetEye 3 know, NetEye 3 included the SMS Tools module. This simple module allowed a user to send SMS messages via a connected SMS gateway. These weren’t the usual monitoring alarms, but simple messages that were to be sent to various cell phones.
Contacts could be created and grouped using the SMS Tools module, allowing for the sending of various messages to a number of mobile devices with just a few clicks. This tool was particularly popular with secretaries who could use the interface to send messages to all company mobile phones.
All NetEye 4 users know that this module is currently a missing piece of the NetEye migration.
I can now tell you that a few days ago I installed the first simplified version of this SMS tool for a customer. Unfortunately, it does not yet have all the functionality of the old version in NetEye 3, but you can already use the basic capabilities.
At the moment there is no possibility to create groups, although this feature can, however, potentially be replaced by a new multiple selection of telephone numbers.
Before I show you some screenshots, I have to underline a few essential points. This additional NetEye 4 module is currently not included in the product and must therefore be installed and configured as an additional consulting activity if it is used.
I would also like to inform you that the name “SMS Tool” has been changed to “smstocontacts” at the moment.
And so finally, let me show you a few screenshots of the new smstocontacts module.
