Review: German Edition of our NetEye & EriZone Usergoup 2016

Usergroup 2016

We can look back on a successful, first German edition of the NetEye and EriZone usergroup. Numerous customers came to Ludwigsburg, to join our event hosted by our valued customer HAHN+KOLB. News about our products, roadmaps and not at least, the direct exchange among end users were the main focus of the usergroup.

The stage was set by the initial welcome by Katrin Hummel, managing director of HAHN+KOLB Werkzeuge GmbH, providing an interesting overview about the history, values and vision of the company.

The first user report was contributed by Christa Piehler, Leader of Technology Management at the energy service provider N-ERGIE at Nuremberg. Mrs. Piehler reported insights about the requirements and project goals of last year’s NetEye implementation. Besides the mapping of the entire IT landscape within a single system, also the company’s CMDB was enhanced, which since then, ensures data consistency.

During the presentation main focus lied on the integration of both solutions, to provide direct access to all NetEye information directly from EriZone. Patrick Zambelli, our product manager, explained the fundamentals of the synthetic monitoring approach with Alyvix, which measures the user experience. To clearly show what Alyvix really does, Patrick showed a video how the engine interacts with mouse and keyboard to simulate actions of a human user. Alyvix continuously executes a freely definable sequence of actions and measures the relative execution time of each single interaction. In this way, constant performance and availability of business-critical applications can be ensured.

Before the lunch break, Günter Aigle delighted the participants with his passionate contribution about IT security. In his role as CISSP and Lead Auditor ISO 27001 (PECB) at Würth IT, he knows all common excuses for spending as less as possible time and money on security. Such excuses can reach from the proud possession of a firewall =), over the assumption that in the own company never happened anything to the priority of all other projects. Through his demonstrative examples, Aigle was able to convince all participants that there’s no getting around for a targeted monitoring strategy.
