Intervalli in secondi per il monitoraggio con nagios
Di recente un cliente ci ha chiesto se con Nagios era possibile effettuare il monitoraggio di un servizio in intervalli nell’ordine di grandezza di secondi, invece che di minuti.
Normalmente con la configurazione di default, il valore dell’intervallo di un service/host check é da considerarsi come intervallo in minuti. É però possibile cambiare questo comportamento modificando il valore nelle impostazioni generali di Nagios denominato “Timing interval length” che definisce appunto l’unità di misura in secondi degli intervalli precedentemente citati.
Questo valore lo troviamo in monarch sotto:
Control -> Nagios Main Configuration -> Page 2.
Tale campo ha come valore di default “60”, ma impostando per esempio il valore a “1”, si cambierà l’unità di misura del valore dell’intervallo di un service/host check da minuti a secondi.
É in ogni caso importante far notare l’elevato rischio di incorrere in gravi problemi di scheduling dei check nel caso ci si dimentichi di cambiare opportunamente tutti i campi relativi ai service/host check che definiscono l’intervallo di check una volta modificato il “Timing interval length”.
